Prescription Charge May 2024
Information Services would like to make members in England aware that there will be an increase to prescription charges of 25p to £9.90 per item from 1st May 2024.
There will be an increase to the cost of pre-payment certificates and to the 12 month HRT PPC certificate as well
Pre-payment certificates:
- 3 month PPC - £32.05
- 12 month PPC - £114.50
- 12 month HRT PPC -£19.80
Pharmacy contractors should also note that it is a contractual requirement to display the 2024-2025 prescription charge notice.

English prescriptions dispensed in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland must be charged for under English rules. Patients from devolved countries presenting prescriptions to be dispensed in England may be charged the English prescription charge.
