Living Well Pharmacy (Northern Ireland)
Community pharmacies are well placed to provide health advice, information and services to help people live longer, healthier lives.
Often being open when other healthcare providers are unavailable, community pharmacy offers convenience access to trained healthcare professionals without the need for an appointment.
The Living Well Pharmacy Service has been developed to provide opportunistic information and advice to patients receiving prescriptions and general pharmacy visitors on public health issues, and pro-active participation in national healthcare campaigns to raise awareness of key public health messages.
What is the purpose of Living Well Pharmacy?
- Increased patient and public knowledge and understanding of living a healthy lifestyle.
- Increase patient and public knowledge of key public health messages.
- Allow the public access to appropriate health information and support materials.
- Empower patients and the public to take action to improve their everyday health.
Who is eligible for the Living Well Service?
- Patients receiving prescriptions, and pharmacy visitors.
Remuneration and reimbursement
Funding of £500 per pharmacy for each campaign has been agreed with CPNI. This funding will be paid in monthly instalments of £250 and will appear as an adjustment to payment on your BSO schedule.
