Tariff Tip: Dexcom One Transmitter
The Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) have confirmed after representations from Dexcom International Ltd and the PSNC that the Dexcom One Transmitter will be added to the appliance section (Part IXA) of the Drug Tariff. This is in response to patients being advised to collect the Dexcom transmitter from their local pharmacy without a prescription & no funding to the local pharmacies. The Dexcom One CGM System (containing 1 Sensor, 1 applicator, 1 transmitter) will also be added at the same time.
Hospitals & local diabetic clinics will initiate the patient on a 10 day or 30 day starter pack, either pack contains a 3 month transmitter. Following on from this the patients will need to obtain additional sensors and transmitters on prescription.
