We have been developing Hey Pharmacist a lot recently to include the ability for your patients to book a service at your pharmacy via the app and web, adding a whole new outlook on Hey Pharmacist as we’re not only making repeat prescriptions simple, but now connecting you with your community more than ever before.
What are Hey Pharmacist Services?
Over the last few years, the digital landscape has changed the way that patients are looking to manage their health, moving towards services rather than purchasing items, therefore turning to their local pharmacies who tend to be more accessible than a GP. We are looking to reinforce this “Pharmacy First” attitude that has been growing, keeping community pharmacy alive at the heart of healthcare.
Funding for services has continuously increased over the last few years, from 8% to 18% (with services such as CPCS increasing by 84% in the past year), and this is likely to increase further, showing us that people are no longer just relying on their pharmacy as a pick-up point for their medication. With Hey Pharmacist, your patients can now easily book services in your pharmacy alongside managing their medication.
The services available to book via Hey Pharmacist currently are:
- Flu Vaccination Service
- Pneumonia Vaccination Service
- Blood Pressure Monitoring Service
- Weight Management Service
- Travel Health and Vaccination Service
- Ear Wax Removal Service
- Pharmacy Contraception Service
By opting into Hey Pharmacist and Service Bookings, your pharmacy and what you offer within will be more accessible than ever before, whilst taking the weight off your shoulders by reducing the amount of calls you receive. How to opt in to services

Opting into Pharmacy Services Bookings is simple.
If you’re yet to opt in to Hey Pharmacist, you can fill in the form at numarknet.com/optin and select “Opt-in to Hey Pharmacist & Service Bookings”, or if you’re a pharmacy outside of England, you can select “Opt-in to Service Bookings only”.
If you are already signed up and using Hey Pharmacist, you can access services via the Hey Pharmacist Portal. Once logged in, click on “Services” on the main navigation. Once you have accepted the terms and conditions, you can access services via a secure external link where you can select and manage your pharmacy services.

How customers book a service

Your patients can book a service via the app using the Services tab. Patients can also book a service by accessing heypharmacist.co.uk, allowing them to select your pharmacy (if you have enabled the service via the Portal) and a date and time to best suit them. With no need to phone, it makes the process easier for your patient, and saves you valuable time. Thanks to the Portal, you’ll be able to keep track of appointments, so nothing is a surprise!

Being able to book a service in a few taps is incredibly convenient for your patients. However if they don’t know about it, then they’ll never use it! So make sure you share this update with your patients whenever you can.
