Extension of Flexible Opening Provisions

NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) has written to primary care providers with contractual arrangements commencing July 19th 2021.

They have confirmed that community pharmacies need to fulfil all aspects of their terms of service for 2021/22.

The declaration of emergency requiring the flexible provision of pharmaceutical services has been extended from 30th June to 30th September 2021. This allows contractors with adequate reason to request temporary opening hours if they give 24 hours’ notice to NHSE&I.

More information on Flexible Opening Provisions can be found on the PSNC website

NHSE&I are also withdrawing the Community Pharmacy COVID-19 SOP v4 as much of the guidance is now redundant or covered in other COVID-19 resources.
