SSPs for Paracetamol Suppositories and Lipitor chewable tablets extended
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has provided an update on the Serious Shortage Protocols (SSP) for Paracetamol 120mg and 240mg suppositories (SSP015) and Lipitor chewable tablets 10mg (SSP016) and 20mg (SSP017).
SSP015 for Paracetamol 120mg and 240mg suppositories was previously expected to expire on 25th February 2022 but the end date has been further extended to 4th March 2022.
SSP016 for Lipitor 10mg chewable tablets was previously expected to expire on 25th February 2022 but the end date has been further extended to 18th March 2022.
SSP017 for Lipitor 20mg chewable tablets was previously expected to expire on 25th February 2022 but the end date has been further extended to 30th March 2022.
This expiry date may be brought forward or extended, and the content may be amended throughout this period. Pharmacists should ensure they are using the current version of an SSP before supplying an alternative product.
