Changes to SSPs for Salazoprin® EN-Tabs 500mg and Lipitor 20mg chewable tablets
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has provided an update on the Serious Shortage Protocols (SSP) for Salazopyrin® EN-Tabs 500mg (SSP014) and Lipitor chewable tablets 20mg (SSP017).
SSP014 for Salazopyrin® EN-Tabs 500mg was previously expected to expire on 22nd April 2022 but the end date has been brought forward to 1st April 2022.
SSP017 for Lipitor 20mg chewable tablets was previously expected to expire on 30th March 2022 but the end date has been further extended to 13th April 2022.
These expiry dates may be brought forward or extended, and the content may be amended throughout this period. Pharmacists should ensure they are using the current version of an SSP before supplying an alternative product.
