Medicines Synchronisation Service

In response to requests from our members, Numark Information Services team have produced an SOP and associated resources to help pharmacy staff in setting up a Medicines Synchronisation Service for when patients are highlighted as requesting part repeat prescriptions several times during the repeat cycle.  This can greatly improve a patient’s compliance with medication and can reduce the pharmacy workload by only having to dispense medication for the patient once a month and reduce medicine wastage.

 

Together with the SOP is a template letter which can be used to outline why a patient’s medication may need to be synchronised.  There is also form to use to list all of the patient’s medication and the quantity required to synchronise the medications.
