Background information: 

The presence of cereulide (toxin) makes this product unsafe to consume.

Cereulide is a toxin produced by some strains of Bacillus cereus. Cereulide is highly heat stable meaning it is unlikely to be deactivated or destroyed by cooking, or when making the infant milk according to NHS guidelines. If consumed it can lead to rapid onset of symptoms.

Symptoms caused by this toxin include nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps.

Advice to Healthcare Professionals: 

Point of sale notices should be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice:

Pharmacies should remove any affected batches from their shelves, quarantine the stock and contact their wholesaler to arrange an uplift.

Advice to Patients:
