Three new SSPs issued for Estradot® patches

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued three Serious Shortage Protocols for Estradot® 50 microgram, 75 microgram and 100 microgram patches in response to a significant ongoing supply disruption.

They all allow for either Estraderm® or Evorel® patches in the same strength to be supplied against prescriptions for Estradot® 50mcg, 75mcg or 100mcg patches, and do not allow for the quantity supplied to be less than that prescribed or substituted with an alternate strength.

There are no SSPs in place for Estradot® 25mcg or 37.5mcg as these strengths are not affected by supply disruptions and should continue to be dispensed in accordance with the prescriptions.

  • SSP079 for Estradot® 50 microgram patch will be in operation from Thursday 19th December 2025 until Friday 28th February 2025.
