Multiple SSPs for Isosorbide Mononitrate modified-release 60mg preparations
In response to significant ongoing disruption to the supply of some versions of Isosorbide Mononitrate modified-release preparations, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued four new Serious Shortage Protocols (SSPs)
These SSPs will allow pharmacies to supply a different product with the total quantity supplied equivalent to the number of days supplied on the original prescription.
- SSP073 Chemydur® XL 60mg modified-release tablet
- SSP074 Monomax® XL 60mg modified-release tablet
- SSP075 Monomil® XL 60mg modified-release tablet
- SSP076 Nyzamac® XL 60mg modified-release capsule
Each SSP allows for the product to be substituted with any of these versions:
- Isosorbide mononitrate (Isotard® 60XL) 60mg modified-release tablet
- Isosorbide mononitrate (Medomon® XL) 60mg modified-release tablet
- Isosorbide mononitrate (Relosorb® XL) 60mg modified-release tablet
- Isosorbide mononitrate (Tardisc®XL 60) 60mg modified-release tablet
Each SSP will run from Friday 6th September 2024 and have different expiry dates, so check the SSP is still valid before completing the substitution.
